Film and Animation Month

Illustrationcupboard is delighted to present its annual animation artwork exhibition, this year to last an entire month! Building upon the recent success of our event celebrating 40 of Mr Benn and 30 Years of Danger Mouse we will be re-visiting these two iconic series and showing new film cels by both David McKee and Brian Cosgrove.

In anticipation of the forthcoming The Snowman II we will be showing rare artwork from the original Snowman film first aired in 1982. These pieces are now true collector's items.

Alongside this we will feature artwork by Oscar winner Shaun Tan who won his Academy Award only last year for The Lost Thing, Shaun will also be popping by the gallery to sign a selection of his books for our bookstore.

From the Aardman film studios we will also be showing a superb character study of the inimitable Wallace and Gromit by Nick Park, as well as his ever-popular silk-screen edition of these two loveable characters produced especially for us here. There will also be original film artwork for A Matter of Loaf and Death, Shaun the Sheep and Creature Comforts and Peter Lord's superb Morph.

A range of other related work will include illustration artwork by Kevin O'Neill of The League of Extra-ordinary Gentleman fame, as well as now rare signed editions of Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are. There are new signed silk-screen editions of Charlie and Lola by Lauren Child unique to the gallery as well as a platter of other rare and signed first edition books including Brian Sibley's new book for the latest animation spectacular PIRATES. There will also be artwork for the now e-book Marvin and Molly by Joseph Theobald.

With all the hectic events in and around London this summer come by the gallery for a moment of peace, calm and take the weight of your feet.
