Robert Ingpen and John Howe
Robert Ingpen and John Howe – Two Templar Classics

17 October to 04 November 2007

The Illustration Cupboard is pleased to present two great modern day illustrators in an exhibition of original artwork from classic tales.

Wind in the Willows, The Jungle Book and Peter Pan - Robert Ingpen
is one of the world’s great illustrators working today. Winner of The Hans Christian Andersen Award, his highly skilled and imaginative work can be seen in many of the Templar Classics stories. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to acquire original published artwork from the recent Jungle Book, as well as his unique preliminary layouts for Peter Pan and Wind in the Willows. Robert’s work is without parallel and a must for all serious collectors.

Beowulf – John Howe.
An illustrator of international acclaim John Howe was one of the artists working alongside Peter Jackson for the recent Lord of the Rings trilogy, and his illustrative work on Tolkein’s Middle Earth series provided much of the inspiration for these blockbuster films. Beowulf, published in October, is his latest production for the Templar Classics series, and for the first time John has produced a very limited edition of gicleé prints from his original artwork to be available for purchase. These editions will be on view alongside the artwork.

The exhibition will also introduce, and include artwork by Tomislav Tomic, a rising star of contemporary book illustration.
