Penny Dale is one of the best-loved picture book artists working today. With a string of best-selling books to her name she is perhaps best known for her Ten in the Bed series, of which the first was an international best-seller placing Penny firmly on the global illustration map. With nearly 2 million copies sold of this title alone, the book has been heralded as one of the most popular picture books of recent decades. This year sees the 25th anniversary of its publication by Walker Books in 1998.

A Year of Drawing: George Butler, adventurer and illustrator

George Butler is one of the most exciting young illustrators working today. As a reportage illustrator he has worked in both Syria and Afghanistan and won an International Media Award. On 3 June he was awarded the prestigious V&A Illustration Award in both categories, editorial and overall for his work in northern Syria for The Guardian, G2. An exhibition of his original artwork will be on show and for sale at the Illustrationcupboard Gallery from the 16th of July to the 3rd of August.
